Since 2010, I have had the opportunity to study under Dr. Guy Voyer, a world renowned MD and Doctor of Osteopathy. This study has enabled me to incorporate a number of osteopathic manual and exercise techniques, including ELDOA, joint and fascial pumping which adds more tools to the proverbial tool box. More than simply learning techniques however, has come a much broader understanding of the complete interconnectedness of the body, not simply from a musculoskeletal standpoint, but in an all encompassing view. The musculoskeletal system is one piece of a complex, dynamic, interrelated system. Simple linear thought processes have lead to separations of systems (circulatory, nervous, skeletal, endocrine, reproductive, digestive…..etc.,etc.) to such an extent that we believe that someone can be treated for a disease of one system and are then surprised when negative side effects occur in another “unrelated” system. Our bodies conform to a set of non-linear, dynamic rules. The human body is not a simple machine, but an amazingly complex chaotic system. In studying with Dr. Voyer, the links based solidly in our anatomy between all of our “systems” have been more greatly appreciated and significantly influenced my approach to working with my valued clients.

Hands on techniques include:

  • Active release techniques (ART)
  • Myofascial Release (MFR)
  • Ostoepathic Joint pumping
  • Fascial pumping
  • ELDOA
